Welcome to Vankleek Hill through our self-guided walking tours. We offer historic descriptions of our 19thC buildings with some background history of Vankleek Hill. Each of these tours provides unique history; however, there is also some repetition as the tours do hit on common properties on Main Street East and in the block-walk of Home, Higginson and Derby streets. As we walk, keep in mind that history is fluid. As research improves, so too do the stories. We are at work on more street tours, and cemetery tours.

Walking Tour: the 19thC Shopping District, Main Street East. You can print this tour, duplex printing, on 8.5 x 11 paper, in b&w or colour. Once printed, fold lengthwise then fold each end toward centre, and now the mini-booklet can fit into your pocket.

Walking Tour: Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute - History Class. This tour was created for the History class of VCI teacher Randi Tolhurst Hall. The tour uses Vankleek Hill buildings and local history to touch-on curriculum topics such as Loyalists, Fenian Raids, architecture, early governance. Print on 8.5 x 11 paper, duplex, as it is a booklet. If you are unable to print duplex, then print the 6 sheets which will each have 2 numbered pages. Easily cut apart the pages and reassemble in page order, then staple the 12 pages to create your own booklet.

Walking Tour: Art Exhibit 2018 Companion Tour. This Vankleek Hill tour was put together to provide histories of some of the houses represented in a 2018 art exhibit held at Arbor Gallery. For that reason, the tour veers from Main Street East over to Mill Street. Print on 8.5 x 11 paper, duplex, as it is a booklet. If you are unable to print duplex, then print the 6 sheets which will each have 2 numbered pages. Easily cut apart the pages and reassemble in page order, then staple the 12 pages to create your own booklet.
